In the Netherlands a spring festival is still relatively unknown, but our southern neighbors are big fans of it, as are we. This spring we are covering the spring table with a Terracotta tablecloth. The spring festival is a celebration for children between the ages of 6 and 12. It is used as a substitute for the communion. An intimate party, a party with meaning and a moment of reflection. It’s springtime again! No change of season makes me happier than when winter turns to spring! For me, 15 degrees, sun and a southerly wind is pure enjoyment. It’s such a great feeling to literally drag winter out of the house. For six months, the wool plaids and dark earthenware settings are replaced by fresh, light colours and materials. This year we’re decking the spring table with striped and checked natural table linen!
